Boombox geek

Even when “off duty” I can’t help but notice the geek in things.  Recently this was last weekend at Global Gathering 2009 and the UK debut of the particularly impressive Godskitchen Boombox.

The Godskitchen Boombox is a huge 16m structure, towering 8m high and 6m deep and fuses an incredible combination of technology, architecture and art.

Two sets of dual stack projectors gave an incredible video show across the weekend ranging from flythrough cityscapes and three dimensional terrain, to virtual decks, messages for the crowd and graphic equalisers all in perfect visual synchronisation with the music.  It was a show enjoyed by the little geek in everyone.

The Boombox was created by ‘1024’, a french based design collective and the same people who brought us the architectural delights of Exyzt.

More photos to follow when I sort myself out and get organised, in the mean time full info here.
